Greg has worked in the field of ecology for over 20 years. With a degree in wildlife conservation from the University of Delaware, he has worked across the mid-Atlantic region with invasive species, aquatic ecosystems, endangered shorebirds, wildlife diseases, wildlife population surveys, deer management, wetland and salt marsh quality assessment, youth environmental education, community outreach, and land management. Greg is a former board member of the Delaware Invasive Species Council, and member of the DNS Land and Biodiversity Management Committee.

During the Fall of 2017, he spent three weeks camping in the Sierra Nevada's (Golden Trout Wilderness within Inyo National Forest) with a graduate student from the Geography Departments vegetative dynamics lab. They conducted forestry surveys gathering data on plant regeneration from recent fires with a focus on Jeffrey Pine trees. This experience propelled him into a fascination with plant life and restoring native ecology.

Lauren started with Red Tail in June 2021. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and a minor in Cognitive Science. She is creating a club dedicated to enhancing native plant communities on the University of Delaware campus and educating students about the impacts of invasive species.

Mike is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy at Wilmington University. He is an Army veteran who has tried different degree programs until he found one that relates to his passion for nature and that he feels can help make a difference.

Katie started at Red Tail in October 2023. She is pursuing a B.S. in Agriculture and Natural Resources with an Insect and Wildlife Conservation minor at the University of Delaware. Katie grew up in a family environment that encouraged curiosity about and love for nature, thus sparking her lifelong passion for plants, waterways, and wildlife. In her free time, she may be found reading philosophy or gardening books, enjoying a variety of outdoor activities in MD and PA, or tending to the feral cat colony she manages to stop the spread of diseases and to protect native wildlife.
